Can ChatGPT and Google’s AI find, read and cite your website?

Enter your website. We read it the way AI crawlers do and run 16 checks across access, readability, structured data and trust, then tell you what to fix first. Free, no sign-up.

We read the public page once, the way an AI crawler does, and show you the result. Nothing is stored. See our privacy notice.

What the checker looks at

Four questions an AI system has to answer “yes” to before it can recommend you.

  1. 1

Access: Can AI crawlers reach the page and use it?

If robots.txt shuts out an assistant’s crawler, or the page asks not to be indexed or quoted, it can’t appear in that assistant’s answers, however good it is.

AI search crawlers allowed · Allowed in search indexes · Allowed to be quoted · Secure connection (HTTPS) · Sitemap

  2. 2

Readable: Can they read it without running JavaScript?

AI crawlers fetch the HTML your server sends. Analyses of their traffic have found the main ones don’t run JavaScript, so text drawn in the browser can be invisible to them.

Text in the HTML · Clear sections · Language declared

  3. 3

Understood: Is it clear who you are and what you offer?

Assistants repeat facts. Structured data, linked official profiles and clear contact details make it easy to state who you are, what you do and where, correctly.

Says who you are (structured data) · Linked official profiles (sameAs) · Clear title and description · Contact facts on the page · llms.txt

  4. 4

Citable: Does it give an AI reasons to trust and quote it?

Answers favour sources that show proof and answer the question directly: named clients, case studies, reviews and plain question-and-answer content.

Proof an AI can point to · Answers questions directly · Shows who’s behind it

What it can’t tell you

An honest tool says where it stops.

It can’t see what an assistant will say about you. Answers change with the question, the person and the sources the system draws on, and those sources are mostly other websites: reviews, directories, press and the profiles you keep.

It reads one public page. Your other pages, your Google Business Profile and your reputation elsewhere all count too. That’s what our GEO service measures: a fixed set of real customer questions, checked across AI assistants over time.

Questions, answered

What is AI visibility?

How easily AI assistants and AI search (ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode) can find your business, understand it and cite it when someone asks a question in your category.

Does a high score mean ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No. The score shows whether AI systems can use your page. Whether they recommend you also depends on the question, the person asking and what the rest of the web says about you: reviews, directories, press and other sites. Nobody controls what an assistant says.

Why does it matter if my site needs JavaScript?

Most AI crawlers read the HTML your server sends and don’t run JavaScript. If your text, buttons or contact details only appear after scripts run, those crawlers may see an almost empty page. The checker tells you when it couldn’t see something, rather than guessing.

Should I block GPTBot?

That’s a business choice. OpenAI documents GPTBot as the crawler that collects content for training its models, and OAI-SearchBot as the one that surfaces sites in ChatGPT search. You can block one and allow the other. The checker only flags the search and user-triggered crawlers.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

It’s optional. llms.txt is a proposed standard (llmstxt.org) for a short Markdown summary of a site. The major AI search engines haven’t said they use it, so it carries very little weight in the score.

How is this different from the Growth Diagnosis?

The Growth Diagnosis scores a page as a growth system: speed, search, campaigns, conversion and analytics. The AI Visibility Checker asks one narrower question: can AI assistants reach, read, understand and quote it.
